THE WORLD'S LARGEST DIGITAL IMAGE

Using a Canon 7D, spending 3.5 hours in the sun, how many images can you take at a rate of 2.97 seconds/image?

Prepare to be amazed.   If you go to:
http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/48492/
you will be able to see the final image and zoom in to reveal detail not visible when the full image is shown. Wow!

A short history of Kondor Photographic

Freelance photography

Even before going to school I have been intrigued by creating images with light, or as it is also referred to as painting with light. Ever since then I have made it a goal to become a photographer. On my 21st birthday I got a Yashica camera. As with all good analogue photographers (that is the term used to refer to 'film photography' in the older days) I also played with dark room work. Although starting off as just a hobby photographer, I quickly got invitations to be the official photographer at my work. Several photo opportunities later, I have build up experience in quite a variety of genres in photography. Then one day I entered the formal yet challenging world of wedding photography. It is very rewarding to see the satisfied faces of the married couples when they collect their films and images. Well, in the digital age, we do not have film anymore, but rather digital images stored on CD or DVD, which can be incorporated in a digital movie or slide show. The darkroom has been replaced by the computer. Something very popular these days are Coffee Table books, consisting of a compilation of images printed on high quality paper and bound in either hard or soft cover, making it a perfect gift or part of one's portfolio. Many of my works have been published - two images used as an aerogramme, a full page feature in Fashion Ensemble Magazine, product shoot featured in "Stywe Lyne" and advertising photographs for Sunset Pools (swimming pools). I also have done various assignments for the Absa Group, including: official photographer at the Absa/ATKV Entrepreneur finals, Absa Property & Premises, Absa Protea Park Branch and recently Absa IT (Production Support). I am also proud to have my work on (and inside) the CD cover for 'Gospel Ensemble'.

Photography school / college

After years of experience as a freelance photographer, I compiled all my notes into a couple of documents. This include practical experience, learning while being a member at a camera club and also extensive research; the research included 'bugging' various professional photographers and learning from them as well. Eventually I have submitted the documents as a manual to the Correspondence College Council of South Africa (distance learning studies) and got registered first time around as a college. Since then I have been enjoying myself educating many others in the skills of photography. Today I am proud to offer a variety of photography workshops and continue to expand my services and courses. The correspondence course is available in English or Afrikaans (also accredited by the ATKV). SA Photo Magazine accredited my course as 'all the technical information one would need to become a freelance photographer'. I also sponsored 10 courses as prizes for the "SA Moments" web site, a Sanlam entrepreneur competition winner.

Well, it is obvious from the above that I am very passionate about my photography career and enjoy people sharing the same interest - one of valuing life and the beauty of everything that life has to offer, so feel free to contact me for a photography session or as a photography tutor where I can share my skills with you.
